Each month, we compare the cost of 30 (previously 76, but we reduced this to reflect the most commonly purchased items) household items between Carrefour UAE and Sainsbury’s UK, both considered mid-range supermarkets in their respective markets. This provides a fair, relatable view of the everyday grocery spend for expats and residents alike. We utilise their online platforms to match items as closely as possible.

Our carefully selected basket includes pantry staples, fresh food, cleaning products, household items, and toiletries, all cross-matched as closely as possible between the two countries.
